Microbiology

During the class for this week, we learned about a new topic which is the 'Virus, Viriods and Prions'
 




Basic Technique of Microbiology

For the practical session, we carried out an experiment on Serial Dilution Technique by using agar plate. The major advantages of this method from the others is it only count the vialable cells only. in this microbiological technique, a bacterial sample is diluted to certain dilutions and only certain range number of colonies will be counted in order to calculate the number of cells in a sample. The number of colonies can be counted manually or by using the Quebec Counter.

First Class of Second Semester (2nd Week)

Hi peeps! 😊 For our first microbiology class, we were briefed about topics that we are going to learn throughout this second semester generally. And of course, more upcoming projects that we have during this sem. We were divided into new groups and assigned with specific microorganisms for each group. I am in group Fungi 🍄 During the second class of the class, we were given a task to construct a mind map about Microbial Systematic in Fungi. We swapped our mind map with other groups and jotted down things or information that were not stated in the mind map yet. This activity help us to share informations and improved among each other. This semester will be a long and tiring as we have a lot of assignments and lab reports 😪😴  But we will boost up our energy to go through this semester really well and excellenty! 💪

What is microorganism? Microorganism is a small and tiny living things that cant be seen with our naked eyes. Groups of microorganisms During the first week of lecture, we have been introduced to the microbial world. We also learned that not all of the microorganisms are harmful and virulent that can causes diseases, but most of them give benefits in many ways.
